Advertisements are annoying but necessary
Blogs should be simple to read and easy to enjoy. Thus, I am committed to avoiding obnoxious advertising that pops up unexpectedly, moves around on the page, or interrupts your experience with unrelated videos.
Some of the links on this page are affiliate links.
Affiliate links to the rescue
Fortunately, affiliate links solve the problem of annoying advertising as they don’t clutter up the content that you came here to enjoy.
When there is a product that I already use and highly recommend, I may link to it using an affiliate link. Please keep in mind that prices fluctuate, so the price you see may not be the price I paid.

What are affiliate links?
Affiliate links (also known as referral links) may generate some income for a blogger, but they do not increase the cost of the items you purchase. Many products and services have affiliate programs to compensate the people or businesses who refer customers to them.
While not every item I recommend will be an affiliate link since there are many good products and services that do not have an affiliate program, please assume that all external product/service links are affiliate links.
My affiliate link promise
I will only recommend products and services that I have…
- Paid for myself.
- Received as a personal gift (e.g., for my birthday or Christmas from a friend or family member).
- Personally used but do not own (e.g., a book borrowed from the library).
I will NOT recommend products that fall outside of this scope. I have no interest in creating paid posts in exchange for free or discounted products and services. If I am not willing to pay for a product, then I do not need to recommend that others pay for it.
Please shop around
If you click on a product that I recommend, please comparison shop to both read reviews and to ensure that you are getting the best price. As for books and DVDs, check with your local library first to see if you can borrow them before buying.
Why I Promote These Specific Companies Through Affiliate Links
All About Learning Press
We’ve been using All About Spelling in our homeschool since 2015. Although I didn’t have the benefit of this program when I was a kid, I’ve become a much better speller as I’ve used it to teach my children.
We paid for our All About Spelling curriculum and used it for several years before promoting it on this blog. Learn more about the All About Learning Press Affiliate Program.

Amazon
We have had an Amazon Prime membership for many years. Because Amazon provides great service and offers such a wide range of products, I will often link to products on Amazon that we use in our own home.

EasyClosets
Over the course of fifteen years, we’ve installed nine EasyClosets systems across two homes. We return to this company time and again because we trust the product and service.

Fit2B
I’ve been a fan of Beth Learn at Fit2B for many years. She makes fitness videos that are approachable for any woman. I love her authenticity and am happy to promote her workout videos and courses. Now that I am consistent at rowing 100 kilometers every month, I’m working to add in Fit2B videos for more variety.

Frump Fighters
I originally found Corina Holden’s Frump Fighters outfit guides through an ultimate bundle deal. I eventually purchased her outfit guides for my family. Because I’m not naturally fashion minded, the outfit guide for girls has helped me connect with my daughter and teach her how to create a great capsule wardrobe.
I also love the Packing Made Simple printable lists that Frump Fighters released in June 2024. It made packing for family camp so much smoother. I’m excited to use it for other types of travel destinations.

Homeschool in the Woods
My first introduction to the work of Amy Pak from Homeschool in the Woods came through the timeline figures we used in our Sonlight curriculum. Later we added lap books and loved how they enhanced our history studies.

Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW)
If I had learned to write with IEW, I would have had the knowledge and confidence to ace any writing assignment in high school and college. Thankfully, my kids are able to benefit from IEW’s language arts curriculum. IEW sets a high standard and guides our kids so that they can meet that standard in bite-sized, incremental steps.

Sonlight
We’ve used Sonlight in our homeschool since the very beginning. I knew that I wanted a literature-rich curriculum for my kids, and Sonlight delivered. There are so many read-alouds and readers from Sonlight that give my kids a shared experience that they will always cherish.
Yoto
When we gave our kids a Yoto Player for Christmas in 2022, I never dreamed how much they would love it. This has been one of those gifts that our kids use daily and fight over who gets to have it. While not every Yoto card is of interest to our family, we have several favorites. I even asked for and received JJ Heller’s I Dream of You CALM Yoto card for Christmas.
